How to Set Up and Use Your NH35 Movement Watch

The NH35 is a reliable automatic movement designed for everyday use. It features manual winding, automatic winding through wrist movement, a date function, and a hacking function for precise time setting.

If your watch has stopped or you are wearing it for the first time, follow the steps below to get it running and set correctly.

Before First Wear

Before wearing your watch for the first time, it is best to give it a manual wind so the movement has enough power to start properly.

If your watch has a screw-down crown, unscrew it by turning it counterclockwise until it releases.
With the crown in its normal winding position, turn it clockwise 20 to 30 times.
Move the hands to a safe time before adjusting the date — 6:00 is recommended.
Set the correct date.
Set the correct time.
Push the crown back in securely.
If your watch has a screw-down crown, screw it back down completely to maintain water resistance.

Once this is done, normal wrist movement will continue to wind the watch during wear.

Crown Positions

Your NH35 watch uses three crown positions:

Position 0: Crown secured / normal position
Position 1: Manual winding
Position 2: Date setting
Position 3: Time setting

If your watch has a screw-down crown, you must first unscrew it before using any crown function.

How to Wind the Watch

The NH35 is an automatic movement, which means it winds itself while worn. It can also be wound manually when needed.

To manually wind the watch:

Make sure the crown is in the normal winding position.
Turn the crown clockwise 20 to 30 times to give the movement enough energy to start running.
Once the watch is on your wrist, normal movement will continue to build and maintain power.

The NH35 has an approximate 41-hour power reserve when fully wound.

How to Set the Date

The NH35 includes a date function that must be adjusted with a little care.

Important: Do not change the date while the watch is in its automatic date-change period, usually between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM. Adjusting the date during this period can damage the movement.

To set the date safely:

If your watch has a screw-down crown, unscrew it first.
Pull the crown out to Position 2.
Before changing the date, make sure the watch is showing a safe time such as 6:00.
Turn the crown to advance the date until the correct date appears.

If you are unsure whether the watch is in AM or PM, set the time first, then return to the date if needed.

How to Set the Time

To set the time:

If your watch has a screw-down crown, unscrew it first.
Gently pull the crown out to Position 3.
The seconds hand will stop. This hacking function allows for more precise time setting.
Turn the crown to move the hands to the correct time.
To confirm AM or PM, advance the hands past 12 o’clock and watch when the date changes. If the date changes, the watch has passed midnight.
Once the correct time is set, push the crown back in.
If your watch has a screw-down crown, screw it back down fully.

Always handle the crown gently and never force it.

If the Watch Has Stopped

If your watch stops after being left unworn, this is normal.

Automatic watches rely on stored energy or regular wrist movement to keep running. If the power reserve is depleted:

Wind the crown clockwise 20 to 30 times

Wear the watch as usual

After that, normal wrist movement should keep it running.
